Meet Your Trainer
Hi, I’m Deb!
Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I’m a firm believer that a home isn’t complete without them. My passion for dog training was sparked when we adopted Rosie, our little rescue dachshund who surprised us by growing into a kelpie mix. Her unique personality and challenges pushed me to dive deeper into understanding not just training, but the whole dog.
I completed my Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training with the National Dog Trainers Federation, Australia’s top provider for professional canine trainers. But my journey didn’t stop there. I discovered the transformative power of games-based training, an innovative and fun approach that focuses on positive reinforcement and turning training into a fun and stress free (as much as possible!) experience for both dogs and their owners. Alongside my dog training, I’m also a certified Raw Dog Food Nutrition Specialist and have completed courses in canine allergies, aromatherapy for pets, and stress management in animal well-being.
Understanding a dog’s behaviour means looking at the bigger picture. It’s not just about obedience; it’s about recognising the emotions behind your dog’s actions, ensuring they have a balanced diet, and exploring alternative wellness approaches to support their overall well-being.
I am passionate about helping all dogs, especially those who are anxious or fearful, by addressing their needs holistically. From nutrition to mental stimulation, and even exploring alternative therapies, I aim to create a balanced, harmonious life for your dog. With a background in running a herding breed rescue, I have personally fostered and rehomed over 100 dogs & puppies, and currently care for 6 rescues of my own, each with their own unique struggles. This hands-on experience, combined with my extensive training, allows me to understand and support dogs from all walks of life.
I’m excited to share my knowledge and passion with you, guiding you and your dog towards a stronger, more joyful bond. Together, we can create a life where your dog’s well-being is at the forefront, and every day is filled with positive experiences.
P.S. If you’d like to work with me so I can help you better understand your dog’s behaviour, just let me know! You can click the button below to either have a quick chat or go ahead and book a consultation—I’m here to help!
